While Federal limitations on offshore drilling must be repealed, Washington must come to terms with the notion that an energy mix is necessary to meet the future energy and security needs of the United States.  Oil and natural gas reserves must be explored and developed.  New sources of energy would not only reduce our reliance on foreign countries, but would help build new industries and protect the environment.  Taxes limiting the development of new energy technologies must be eliminated in order to let free market enterprises find efficient ways to design and deploy new technologies.  I will sponsor legislation in Congress to help stimulate research and development needed to help produce next generation energy reserves and technologies.
